Workshops and Trainings

Jessica presenting a custom workshop

Below is a sampling of my existing workshops.

Media 101: Training in basic media skills for groups or individuals. Training includes how to interact with reporters; how to give short but informative answers; how to pivot away from topics you do not want to discuss; and what you have the right to expect as someone being interviewed.

Advanced media training: This training is only offered one-on-one and will focus on the specific needs of an individual. Sample topics include on-camera presence; combatting imposter syndrome; projecting confidence; and conveying appropriate tone. We will first assess where you need work and then will practice in those areas. If there is time, we will record sample interviews on-camera and watch them together to assess your strengths and weaknesses.

Conflict resolution: This workshop is designed to help teams understand that conflict is neutral. When handled well, conflict can lead us to stronger relationships with deeper understanding. We will look at the Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Model, which presents five styles of conflict management. We’ll discuss which styles are best in which types of situations. Examples and activities will be tailored to your team.

Navigating difficult conversations: So much of our success in professional life revolves around our ability to manage challenging conversations with integrity. We need to tell an employee they won’t be getting a promotion they expected. We need to end a relationship with a vendor. But we want to do it the right way. This workshop gives research-backed tips on what is the “right way” to walk through these difficult conversations we so often find ourselves facing as well as providing time for practice.

All workshops can be tailored to your team and your timing needs. Custom workshops can be created with at least 6 week’s notice.
